Happy New Year!

As we approach the start of yet another year; 2014 offers a real opportunity to start over, to do better to do more and just be! Time marches on and yes youth may be wasted on the young? Or is it that with time you start wanting to do more. Is it possible that one gets drawn in many directions and tries to meet all of life's demands and simply finds that there is just not enough time? If we should focus on what is import then we will find that the time given to us is sufficient so we must use it wisely. It has been said that we are all given the same 24 hours every day, how we choose to use it is an entirely different matter.

So as we welcome the new year, lets make the most of it. Go with God.

Until next time. Walk good!

PCLinuxOS: "Finally Found What I was Looking for!"

Now here is the thing, I was resolute to have a solution in place within days, by the weekend at least. So what really happened. Just over 24 hours ago, I lost it on my machine (my beloved Dell Precision M6500). After tolerating no real functioning wireless device that fuelled no love for Broadcom and being limited by a less than a full featured Nvidia video card, I decided to make a move to improve my dormant state and get out of the "woe is me" life I have chosen (life with Linux on the Laptop that is).

Knowing that there had to be a solution, I broke the OS that had been good to me for several months now, no regrets, she was meant for the big times and deserved more than I could give, parting was such sweet sorry. I then quickly moved on to others I had been with in the past, but was soon reminded why we never made it in the first place.

Still resolute to find a solution I kept looking, then finally I came across, the one (the new OS, flavor of the month); yes, this could be the one. So far, a short encounter has me thinking that this is the start of something really special. The beginning of a long term relationship, the kind you take home to mama. So who is she?

PCLinuxOS

Yes indeed, with the live DVD, the Nvidia driver works and the graphics are amazing, not only that, but the Broadcom wireless card now works as well with the live DVD.

For your listening pleasure!

Until next time,

What are the chances?

On my commute to the office this morning, the lady next to me was playing the same XM satellite station I was! She noticed and said to me "you have satellite radio"; I nodded to affrim. We drove side by side with volumes up until she turned off...before we parted we confirmed that we were from the same country.
Called tech support at NetApp minutes after arriving at the office; would you believe, the gentleman on the other side of the line was from the same country I am. What are the chances?

Have a great day!

Until next time, walk good.

The Volunteer

I am impressed with the details of what was done with FOSS (Free and Open Source Software) from Blender!
And to think that you could do this too...the application is Free :)
With the remains of summer...
Enjoy!
From a more academic perspective there is:

Yep this too is FOSS

I am in debt and less rich because? Still trying to figure out why I spend my days, and valuable time as a volunteer S_ A _ _!
We are so programmed, this is the Matrix for real, the problem is I will be heading into the weekend, just to do it all again come Monday!
The the only thing I can truly hope for is to live long enough to become a greeter at Home Depot (not too interested in Walmart, but if it comes down to it...oh well).
